This is especially suited for you if you appreciate horses, their beauty, skills, folks who train them and their history... If so, you'll be glad to be able to experience a trip to Myakka City, Florida to marvel at the beautiful and skillful Royal Lipizzan Stallions. They are owned by the Hermann family through the ages, and are back "home" for training and free exhibition shows a couple of times per week during the winter months (such as 10 am on Saturdays as of this writing-but check with them directly for current schedule). This is a quaint, rustic, shopping and entertainment waterfront complex with small shops, eateries and restaurants, musical entertainment, marina with cruises, fishing, jet skiing, and more (pirate party cruise, for example), and waterfront boardwalk to enjoy. You'll get to see many boats cruising by on the waterfront as well as plenty of pelicans swimming about and sky diving for food... fun to watch! Spend a few hours or more here and you'll be feeling more relaxed and in tune with island time before you realize it. |

If you're an avid golfer, consider vacationing near one of the many top golf courses in Florida. You can start with this listing of Best Florida Golf Courses... http://www.golflink.com/top-golf-courses/state.asp?state=FL There are MANY more golf courses in Florida than what is included on that list. So if you're not necessarily looking for those "best" golf courses, and just "average" or "good ones" will do for you, you are likely to be able to vacation almost anywhere in Florida and still be able to be within 15 to 30 minutes to one. Just check with the local tourist bureau, chamber of commerce or visitor's center, to double check and make sure how far it will be to the nearest golf course in the Florida vacation spot you are considering before you finalize your trip. |

Most people have rented hotel rooms while vacationing but you can also consider renting a Florida vacation condo or cottage from private owners. You'll often find these accommodations are more spacious for the money and you can find some owners offer unique amenities or extras, or can accommodate your special requests or needs. More Florida condo and cottage owners are turning to the internet to help vacationers find them. So you are likely to best find these private owners' vacation rental opportunities on online directories that list these (especially if you are out of town and unable to drive around to see their signs). Two such directories that help vacationers to Florida each year to find their Florida vacation home match are: http://www.vrbo.com and http://www.weneedavacation.com |
